Bio:

As everyone knows, most dwarves on Kiru are reclusive lot. The surface dwellers who interact with the other races are oddballs, generally looked down on by the majority of dwarven society. Armpt Dalmar is what you might call a second generation surface immigrant. His mother, Cornelia Stonelore was a dwarven xeno-anthropologist. It is hard to study other races while living soley with dwarves, so she arranged to become a visiting scholar at Morgrave University {basic idea lifted from another site}. She hadn’t intended to stay there very long, but the work was so interesting that when they offered her a tenure track position she accepted.

The dwarf known only as Dalmar probably had less choice in leaving his homeland. No one has ever said it for sure, but Armpt is pretty sure he was fleeing either justice or creditors. Back at home, Dalmar wouldn’t have had a chance with Cornelia, but one gets pretty lonely for dwarven companionship up here on the surface. They spent some quality time together and she got pregnant. Since they were dwarves, they got married quick in order to preserve her honor and stayed married because propriety is so important to dwarves. Their relationship could be described as ‘cordial’ and they did their bit to be responsible parents. She often went on field expeditions for the university and he got himself hired as a guard.

The university is a pretty diverse place and Armpt grew up being comfortable with all manner of races and personalities around. He figured out pretty early that if you wanted any attention in that kind of environment, you have to really stand out. Armpt is good at that. Oh, and since he has never been to any of the dwarven cities, he doesn’t give a rat’s ass about propriety.

Sponsored by Dalmar, Armpt is a member in good standing in the Iron Guard Mercenary Guild. His first solo assignment was bodyguarding a university functionary on a trading expedition to Vigrid. It should have been a milk-run so he is pretty pissed off at those face-eating aberrations for killing his charge while he was sleeping. Who would have thought you would have to keep watch all night in the middle of the frakking ocean?!

Anyway, now Armpt has charge of these three crates from the dig in the ancient tiefling kingdom of Bael Turath. He knows that Cornelia hit the jackpot, some tombs from way back that had never been found by tomb robbers. He also knows that she wanted to work out some kind of deal with the tieflings at the University of the Nobuzerri, but he is going to have to inventory the crates and look through all of his late ward’s paperwork to figure out what is going on. Armpt wants to salvage the situation by carrying out the mission himself.

Meanwhile Armpt is 25, in a new city with some new comrades who fight pretty well and with a cushy place to crash. What’s not to like?! To top it all off, there is a bar here named “The Angry Dwarf,” which is no doubt destined to become his favorite hang out. He’ll also check in with the local chapter of Iron Guard and see if there are any other dwarves in town—preferably women.
